After the passing of the botanica’s founder, her son, Josue felt that it was time for a fresh start. Daffodils were very precious to Doña Camila, often seen in the décor she used and clothing she wore. We felt that it was only natural to make Daffodils the central focus for the brand’s new direction. Daffodils symbolize rebirth and new beginnings. As one of the first flowers to bloom at the end of winter, they announce the conclusion of cold dark days and herald the beginning of spring.
My goal was to create a custom set of brand assets with enough variety to be used in Casa Verde Botanica’s wide array of products. Green, orange, and yellow were chosen as the brand colors to create an earthy color palette of warm and cool tones. A hybrid of Art Nouveau’s organic forms and decorative patterns were paired with the clean, geometric style of Art Deco’s linear imagery to create an alluring aesthetic that combines elements from both the modern & natural world. The outcome was a heart-led, refreshing new visual identity for the business’s next chapter sure to resonate with returning and new customers alike.
